A very special & personal story from one of our original members.
I started attending Open House when I was 13 and continued until I was 18. I can honestly say it changed my life in the best possible way. Before joining I was heading down the wrong path - involved with the wrong crowd and regularly in trouble with the law and society. But OH gave me a safe space, support and guidance that helped me turn things around...
Through their programs, I built real confidence, gained valuable work experience and made friendships with people of all ages and backgrounds. They also connected me with other youth organisations, which opened doors for me to start my working life and build a better future...
Most importantly, they helped me see that the world isn't always a bad place - that there are people who care, opportunities to grow, and a life beyond the mistakes of the past. I highly recommend OH to any young person who needs support, direction or just a place to belong. It made all the difference for me.
